11/18/17 Student Showcase

Our amazing students created some of their first choreography to share with friends and family. Students will be performing on silks, lyra, and trapeze.  These amazing ladies – and gentleman all went above and beyond, dancers and spirits flew high.  We’re super inspired and already dreaming about the next one – coming this spring!   Picture coming

10/28/17 Witches Ball Annual Masquerade at Statler City

Buffalo’s Annual Halloween Masquerade never disappoints!  The setting at Statler City is perfectly luxurious and slightly haunted (so we’re told) and the costumes and creativity are otherworldly. We flew high above the grand ballroom again this year, and as a bonus round, Jess BG and Cortney Chyme also featured their vocal talents at the event as Dames of the

9/22/17- Tesla Festival at Lakeward Spirits

The Electric Circus was themed around Victorian-inspired creativity and innovation. Buffalo-Niagara Tesla Festival celebrate the lifed and legacy of Nikola Tesla in WNY and Buffalo as the world’s first “Electric City”, put on by Martin McGee, Dana Saylor, and Tara Sasiadek in concert with ELAB. The event was held at Lakeward Spirits, a turn-of-the-century barrel factory converted into a distillery and venue in a Buffalo’s Old First Ward. We performed with electric light sculptures as our backdrop.   DID YOU KNOW? Tesla achieved his lifelong dream and the pinnacle of his career in Buffalo Niagara – the birth of the Electric Age! This achievement was a major turning point in world history that still impacts the daily lives of billions of people. Nikola Tesla’s goal in life, imagined as a young man was to get to Niagara Falls so he could install his AC-powered turbines to capture and distribute power worldwide, a watershed moment in the course of

9/10/17 – Onyx and Pearls: Under the Big Top Gala at the Adams Mark

We absolutely loved performing at Onyx and Pearls: Under the Big Top alongside the creative genius of Brittany LaBella.  Her fashion creations are the perfect mix of playful and sophisticated, which is exactly what we aim for, so it felt like a perfect match.  The local designers presented an array of wearable art creations on the runway, the musical performance by 4 B-L0 blew us away, and we couldn’t have asked for a better host than Red Roxx. It certainly was not your average fashion show!  Read the Buffalo Rising Review here.

9/9/17 Music is Art at the Buffalo River

Music is Art is a celebration not only of music, but of all things art in Buffalo.  We teamed up with Madd Tiki Tattoo to perform aerial arts as a part of the 716 Sideshow, which featured a variety of oddities. The new location of MiA was a hit, and we loved flying high above the ruins outside of Riverworks.  Thanks to Robby Takac, Mark Madden, Keith Harrington, and everyone on the MiA team for another fantastic year!  And also a big thanks to Nakita Mone at NJB Photography for capturing us in

8/27/17 Elmwood Avenue Festival for the Arts

An epic celebration of arts, culture, and summer’s sweet end, EAFA had more than 170 artists and craftspeople selling work done in 16 different mediums, over fifty performances on three stages, and for the youngsters, an abundance of  hands-on arts projects, kids-oriented performances, and a Kidsfest parade. And besides all that, the EAFA featured demonstrations on sustainability, and a variety local and regional organizations, and tons of delicious food offerings. Our BAD dancers gave a beautiful performance Sunday afternoon; it was delightful to see the aerial dance blended with the talents of Buffalo’s other favorite dance groups.

8/26/17 Leonard Oakes Steampunk Festival, Medina, NY

This year we were welcomed into the Festival by Hala and Lalo, a duo of SteamPunk Stilt Walkers. This delightfully quirky festival offers a world of inventors, creators, live artists, authors, chefs, musicians, side show performers, and fermentation artists.  We look forward to it every year!

8/19/17 – Dance of the Fireflies on Old Falls Street, Niagara Falls

Old Falls Street and 24 Below Gallery put on a fabulous display of whimsy and sparkles for this family-friendly event.  The festivities included arts & crafts, costume making, dance performances, story telling, and a night-time glowing parade.  We were glad to see that the rain held off, but it was very windy!

7/2/17 Silo City Alive, Buffalo, NY

Gracing the skies of Silo City always feels majestic; there’s nothing like a 100 foot grain silo to make you feel like being 20 feet in the air is NBD.  The backdrop created by the silos, the industrial landscape, and the river are like no other.  This time we had the added pleasure of Sportman’s stellar selection of Americana music, which inspired our sets.  Big thanks to all the bands, the Sportsman’s Americana Foundation, and everyone who came out to celebrate on what turned out to be a pretty perfect day.

6/17/17 Summer Solstice at Artpark

The Solstice Festival was full of whimsy: fairy houses, flower crowns, fanciful costumes, graceful dancers and of course high flying performance from the Buffalo Aerial Dance team.  It was a pleasure and honor to perform in this gorgeous scenery, with the headliner Lehrer Dance dancing on the colorful Niagara ’79 painted lot to celebrate its reopening.  Magic by Paul Antonio, drumming by Slyboots, and fire performance by Pyromancy rounded out the event, making it a joyous celebration of both the solstice and the resurgence of performing arts culture in Buffalo.
