Hello Everyone,
First of all, thank you so much for being understanding and supportive of the changes taking place at the studio. It’s been a rather tumultuous month, and we’ve reached the twilight of our time at the Alt Theatre, a bittersweet moment for sure. The seating and flooring will be disassembled on Tuesday 7/30. We are holding classes as usual through Sunday, July 28. Please check our social media accounts for any updates (the easiest way to post last minute changes if need be).
Secondly, We’re very excited to announce 2 new spaces that we’ll be using shortly: Metts Dance studio in West Seneca and a space adjoining Flips gymnastics in Lockport (north East Amherst). After searching high and…high for suitable spaces, these were the definitely best fit for our needs! We are also awaiting completion of a new facility in Elmwood Village; the plan is to have a B.A.D. studio there in the start of 2020. Whether we’ll maintain the Northtowns and/or Southtowns locations in addition to the Elmwood location is undetermined at this time.
Our schedule will be scaled back during August as we adjust to the new locations. Tuesday afternoon (4:45 — 5:45) youth classes will continue at Metts as scheduled throughout the summer, beginning Tuesday, July 30! We will also have open gym time on SATURDAYS from 11-1 at Metts throughout August. We hope to offer some donation-based “pop up” practice times on our outdoor rigging as well – stay tuned for info on that!
In September, we will reintroduce a full schedule, with classes at both locations. We’re aiming to keep the schedule as close as possible to the current offerings, but a few changes may be necessary. PREVIOUS VERSION, July 1 —
We have had a fabulous 5 years in our beautiful home, The Alt Theatre, and we thank you all for joining us for the hundreds of classes we’ve held there throughout the years! However, the time has come for us to move on. Last week, we received notice that we would not be able to renew our lease in our current space, and given 30 days to vacate. So we will be leaving our current home at the end of this month. Let’s make July the best month ever and give the beloved Alt a proper goodbye!
As far as the future, we are on the hunt for a new studio! We have some leads, but if anyone happens to know of spaces that would be suitable for our purposes, please feel free to pass along that information. Our goal is to stay within a mile or 2 of our current location (North or Central Buffalo, or possibly Kenmore). We know for sure of a space that we may use starting in October, but we’re on the lookout for something better too.
It’s possible that we will have outdoor classes around Buffalo in August/September using our portable aerial setup. We will post details on that as soon ASAP! Either way, while we will miss the Alt, we’re excited about moving on to a new space (and perhaps one that isn’t on the 3rd floor 😉 ). We will keep you all up to date as we move forward with our relocation.
